Born in Detroit, Michigan, Brooke attended Kingswood High School. She went on to Duke University where she studied history. She married John Dixon in 1956 and they had five daughters. John's career took the family to Geneva, Switzerland and Mexico City, Mexico for several years. They moved to Atlanta in 1976 and have lived there ever since. Brooke worked for the state government as a ?? and retired in ??. Cooking and entertaining have always been passions of Brooke's, which she maintains to this day, always combining great company and wonderful food at their frequent gatherings in Georgia and their summer home in Northport, Michigan.
