About the Book

On December 11, 2014, Dorothy (Howard) Dixon celebrated her 75th birthday celebration. Born in Sampson County, NC to the late Annie (Howard) McIntyre and the late Eddie Pridgen in 1939. She describes herself as, a very determined and strong-willed Christian woman. She is a lover of the Lord Jesus Christ and a lover of people. She doesn't mind doing things for herself if, others are hesitant or slow to execute. She is the very proud mother to daughter, Tanya McIntyre and has numerous surrogate children who call her "Mother."

Daughter Tanya, describes her mother as a "Quiet Storm." She is very loving, kind, attentive, a great listener, generous, God-fearing and pillar of strength.

The married, mother of two and proud grandmother serves as a member of Grove City and Canal Winchester Arts Councils in Ohio. She also sits on the board of Friends of Columbus Cultural Arts Center. Serbennia is a writer for Mountain View magazine at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Columbus, OH

Her passions for photography and journalism began during her 31-year career in the military. She worked in Public Affairs for 15 years.

She is a graduate from both Franklin and DeVry Universities, Columbus, Ohio.
