This book is a story of a little girl who left her home iwhen the Germans invated Roselaerre Belgium in 1914, fled to France and then came to the United States.

I, Joanne Marie DeRiemaker Gidley, will try to tell Emma's Story as it was told to me by my mother who was the little girl in this journey.
I have written one other book "Gidley Family Heritage" about our family. A widow with four sons, 12 grandchildren and one great grandaughter, I enjoy being with family and friends.
