When I was a young black girl, growing up in Griffin, Georgia, all I wanted to do was learn to cook dried butterbeans and cornbread like Glenda. To this day, I have never cooked a pot of these beans that I did not burn. This book is for my favorite girls, Gretchen,
Evelyn and Sadie. See if you can make those beans and not burn them, I've tried.
