Swati Das has been a teacher by profession and a poetess by passion. She has dabbled in writing short stories, articles, snippets, etc, but her mainstay has been poetry.
"Fantasia In Frames Poetic" is her fourth poetry anthology. Her earlier books are "Mystique Musings", "Once On A Blue Moon Night", "My Muses And Magic Manna" which have been well-loved by poetry aficionados.
"Fantasia In Frames Poetic" confines itself to a special genre exploring the many poetic forms spanning over different countries.
Besides delving into English poetic forms like the ballad, lyric poetry, narrative poetry, sonnets, metaphorical poetry, etc, she has also experimented with the Japanese (Haiku, Tanka, Senryu, Sudoka, Katauta), Welsh (Hir a Thoddaid), French (Dizain, Huitain), Tanaga (Filipino), Irish (Ae Freislighe) poetry forms. In a way, it is like celebrating world poetry forms (though not exhaustive) through fantasy, imagination, creativity.
