Let me preface this by saying that I’m certainly no writer. Laura had always talked about writing a book even before the Cancer and I always knew she had the talent to do so but I thought it was just a pipe dream. Once the Cancer progressed and Laura was unable to work, she finally put pen to paper. The original idea for Laura’s book was to chronical the Cancer journey of two best friends. She thought there was a story to be told about two best friends who grew up together developing terminal Cancer at the same time. Since she didn’t have a life insurance policy, simply because there’s not a life insurance company on the planet that would insure a terminal Cancer patient without charging a small fortune, she decided the book would be her insurance policy. Not knowing how much time she had left; Laura was committed to writing as much as possible whenever possible. Unfortunately, Cancer had other plans. I remember her trying to write while lying in her hospital bed..

I'm not a writer! I'm a Police Officer who just happened to marry the most wonderful person in the world. Unfortunately, that wonderful person developed breast cancer and the ugly disease ultimately took her from me. I am extremely fortunate though to have been married for 23 years and together we raised two beautiful teenagers. My son, Benjamin, who will be 18 on October 2nd, and my daugher, Ella, who just turned 16.
