I decided to compile most of the poems I wrote during my time in Sri Lanka, fulfilling in a small way my earliest vision of publicizing them. Writing poems has been a hobby spanning most of my life. The poems are in no way “Sir Walter Raleigh” but they catalogue experiences and helped me process complicated emotions during my “time of youth”. I still prioritize looking inwardly and conveying my emotions over using technique. These poems are a part of me, a younger, but not entirely different version of myself. I can now appreciate it for what it is.
