About the Book

In 1943 my mother Maria Goossen with six children fled Ukraine in the midst World War 2, eventually to emigrate to Canada to begin a new life. John Goossen, Maria's husband and my father, was forcibly separated from his young family during the war. John was eventually captured and imprisoned, then released many years later. John reunited with his wife, children and grandchildren in Vancouver, Canada. A Goossen Family Journey is a personal memoire of those times.
