About the Book
in 1943 my mother Maria Goossen with her six children fled Ukraine. They eventually were able to emigrate to Canada where they began a new life in Yarrow, BC. John Goossen, Maria's husband and my father, was forcibly separated from his young family during World War Two. He was captured, imprisoned, then released many years later. In 1967 John was reunited with his wife, children, and grandchildren in Vancouver, BC, where he lived out his life.. A Goossen Family Journey is a personal memoire of that time.
