About Author
Once an exchange student myself, I have now come full circle and am about to bid farwell as a host mother to my "son". At long last, I understand that when I left over 20 years ago, it wasn't only my heart that was filled with sadness, but those of my host mothers as well. Since that time, I still adhere to "we were given two ears and one mouth for a reason", shut up and listen and to live with no regrets.
