A multi genre project is a new way of learning and engaging students through multiple interpretations of texts and events. Students are engaged in sophisticated and varied forms of meaningful texts, and are able to use information to show personal interests and special talents. Additionally, the project prompts critical analysis and higher level thinking. Research skills are coupled with media literacy. Plagiarism is minimized, and results are overwhelmingly interesting. Students must read carefully and respond in like manner. A multi genre project has it all - every category of ELA standards.

My name is Courtney Blaylock, and I am the fifth and sixth grader teacher at Christian Academy of the Cumberlands in Crossville TN. I am entering in the second year of my Masters Degree in Education. I currently have a Bachelors Degree in business with a special in psychology. I love working with children, and after having my own son, I knew my heart, body, and soul needed to be in a school system. My success I give to the Lord and my family. Without their endless love and support, this journey would not be possible.
