Jan Poepping grew up on a farm near West Union, Minnesota. Jan is the middle daughter of Roger and Mildred (Imdieke) Gans. Jan has 2 older sisters, Carol and Judy, and a younger brother, John, and a younger sister, Mary. Jan is married to Mick Poepping. Jan and Mick live in Naperville, Illinois. They have 2 daughters, Michaela and Erin.
