Editors Note: Never to brag, Mr. Dockery has done a lot more than what his simple opening has stated. Robert R Dockery has been the director of Western Piedmont Community College for as he said, many years. He has helped innumerous people attain certification in a variety of plant related fields be it nursery and gardens, landscaping design, parks, or as a florists, producer, or distributors of plants. He has had plant seeds in space, designed horticulture programs, helped build greenhouses and so much more. For years he freely answered calls & emails with photos of problem plants & issues & gave advice. He assisted in preserving rare & endangered species which specifically grow on rocks & was able to replicate environments for the greenhouse. Most of his achievements are represented in the lives of his students. Once offered the possibility to move, he declined saying he could do the most good for the most people at the community college level. Now retired, he has time to write this.
