I started writing essay at the age of nine, and by twelve I was already writing poetry. As a kid, I have always been fascinated by reading. And as I have started to be a reader, my love for writing equally developed. During high school and all throughout college, I continued my inclination for both reading and writing, enjoyed much of my time with books as companion.
Although my penchant for reading and writing continually progressed and developed, never it has crossed my mind that a day would come I will be given an opportunity to be published in a book. But as fate has decreed, I have come to chance upon this group in Facebook where poetry challenge is being conducted, and to which I have instantly become inclined to participate. Making the long story short, it was an opportune time Ms. Tess advertised a hiring for moderator, of which I have applied and was hired.

Gigi Balita, christened Josephine Sugatan Balita, was born and raised in Tanza Cavite, Philippines. Her parents are Cleotilde Balita, a former Municipal Assessor and Severo Balita, a retired Military. Gigi is the eldest among her two siblings.
She started writing essays at the age of nine and poems when she was twelve and the title of her very first poem was, "Search."
She attended college at San Sebastian College Recoletos and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She worked in the Provincial Government of Cavite, Human Resources Department. She also owned a gold franchise of Sophie Paris, a small fashion and beauty shop, located in her hometown. At present, she works in the Municipality of Tanza, Cavite under the Office of the Mayor.
