Betty Kaplan is a Venezuelan American screenwriter and director who has brought to the screen major works by Isabel Allende, Esmeralda Santiago, Simon Bolivar, Carolina Garcia Aguilera and Romulo Gallegos. She has just completed her fifth film based on an award winning Puerto Rican novel, SIMONE.
