A native American, I relocated to Italy in the late 70's and became an ESL teacher almost immediately upon arrival. Wanting to create my own style of teaching, I began writing short nursery rhymes to read to my elementary school students; alliteration helps with intonation. And, short sentences that rhyme help build reading confidence.
After writing and writing, I found myself with folders chock-a-block full of short stories and whimsical characters. Kelly the Kangaroo is simply one of them.
Writing is one of my favorite pastimes.
