Carly, her brothers and sisters and soon to be dying mother navigate life as they know it in two different houses, before cancer and after cancer. Carly is the youngest of six, and plays her role as little sister nonchalantly. Carly goes through life at the mercy of circumstances beyond anyone's control- whether it is weather, the constant bad mood of an older sister, being a perpetual third wheel, falling off a second floor porch, or your only mother getting sick with cancer, then dying. Shady and sad, yet hilarious characters weave in and out of these stories that are random snapshots of a girl just trying to be normal.

Kari Brown lives in Owego, New York with her husband, 16 year old son, two cats, and two dogs- one small, one medium. She also has a daughter attending her first year of college. Kari has been writing most of her life, but has also worked with the mentally ill as a Case Manager for almost 10 years. She has been in many writers groups, both facilitator and participant. And just like in group therapy, she knows you have to listen and wait for your turn.
