I thought that writing children's books would be easy for me due to my always writing high end, sophisticated material that involves a plethora of complicated phrases and sentence structures.
Nope. This was much harder than any story I've written.
Even with me having a nephew who loves stories, coming up with something on my own was unnecessarily complex. Frustratingly, I finished but it could have turned out better...
