About Author
My name is Shannen Heyman and I am the mother of 3 sons, Demetrius, Lil James, and Donevon. I have been married for 24 years to my husband James whom I met on the 23rd and Broadway bus many years ago. I love to read, write, and sing. The inspiration for the character Kayla Koala came from my niece Kayla, who is a middle child with a vivid imagination. I love children and look forward to teaching in the near future.
