Kelly Moran, Beg Borrow and Steal: Opening reception Saturday April 27, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at d. m. allison on Colquitt
Kelly Moran's latest offering is a zany mixed bag of happy urban myth and late American culture POP to be sure, but at the same time so well executed that one wants to stop and think it all over. Moran takes advantage of an omnipotent time frame while jumping gender fences, and looking back at "the way we were" just far enough in the past to clue us into the fact that the human chemistry found in her works is universal. Moran excels at making the complex planning and process oriented work look inspired and of the moment. Her images are gleaned from the internet junk heap, vintage magazines and advertising, while working in woodcuts, lino-cuts, and some parts created with the latest digital technology and archival digital printing. There is plenty of Yin and Yang for everyone in the show.

Our books are dedicated to all the artists that have come before and deserve to have their journey shared and story told. From years of experience, it became evident that family, friends, and associates often don't retain and pass down crucial documents, such as articles, exhibition records, and professional correspondence, these are frequently discarded or overlooked. We would like to ensure that such materials are preserved, providing a historical record of the artist and their work for future reference by appraisers, archivists, and researchers. ARM (Arts Rescue Mission) 501 c3 Charity, is an virtual outreach organization supporting aging artists in the Visual, Performing, and Literary Arts, with crowdsource funding, awareness events, and programs, to Restore, Shelter, Provide, and Preserve their work.
