Child obesity is a major problem in the country, but specifically in Oakland, and the Bay Area. This problem can be strung from a variety of problems, including lack of information, and lack of resources in lower income neighborhoods. This book gives children fun ways to exercise (different from the basic idea of running), and 10 healthy and delicious recipes that kids can make on their own or with parental guidance.

My name is Jamaica Greenwood. I am a senior at Saint Mary's College High School, in Berkeley, California. I have been living in a relatively healthy lifestyles since I was a child. As a child, I danced weekly, along with playing soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track, and gymnastics. And followed through with a few of those activities to my current. Recently, is my life, I have noticed tow things: 1, the shortage of whole foods and those kinds of stores in certain neighborhoods, the easy accessibility of fast food restaurants like McDonalds, in those same neighborhoods. And 2. The high number of child obesity in African American communities and those same neighborhoods. From those realizations, I became interested in this topic, which led me to do my senior project, and create this book. How you enjoy it!
