John oversees theme development and fieldwork at Helios. He has been on the cutting edge of creative curriculum development for children of all ages over the past 35 years. Most of his work is based in the use of story. His favorite literacy tools include circus skills, puppetry, video, cartooning, wilderness living skills, storytelling, music, and travel. He has a gift for creating compelling theme-based literacy expeditions that engage students and challenge them to apply their creative selves to all forms of capturing and illuminating stories.
John loves to play ice hockey on Sunday nights.
