I chose to research the genocide in South Sudan because I have a personal connection with this incident. Last year my U.S history teacher was part of the refugee aid program. I had the once in a life time opportunity to communicate with kids my age who live in South Sudan. We had pen pals and my pen pal was Dominic. I had the opportunity to try understand what Dominic feels and has been through by reading his letters. Dominic has inspired me to do my research project on South Sudan.
