Barbara was the second of four generations of nurses, and always ready to help someone in need. She led her church’s humanitarian efforts which included knitting caps for newborns, making dresses for Nicaraguan children, and faithfully relaying emergency radio messages. Defined by her creativeness, Barbara drew and painted in oils, sewed her daughters’ special clothes, made personalized quilts, decorated cakes, crocheted afghans, carved woodworking plaques, and sculpted pottery--anything that she could make with her hands, she did.
