As just a 16 year old, I believe that I have been through a rollercoaster of ups and downs when it comes to health & fitness. I always grew up with a mindset that a girl should be skinny to be pretty & fit. Through self-love & understanding I have discovered that that is nothing but a lie put onto us girls by the media & other factors like family, friends and boys. At points when all I was told was to be skinny & everyone will like me I stopped myself to think, am I really giving my body what is best? No I sure wasn’t. After years of building myself and understanding my body I have never felt healthier & so overwhelmed with self-love. I learnt that the important thing is to listen to the body & give it its needs. I learnt to never listen to anyone that says skinny is healthy. Here I am with muscle around my body; happier & healthier than I was when I believed the words I was told about what I “had” to be. Skinny isn’t healthy, having a strong and nutrient filled body is healthy
