Luke had no home and lived on his own, until he was picked up on a street. After much rejection, he was adopted and found a forever home with Angela.
In his new home Luke received not only food and shelter but lots of caring and affection, too. First he cautiously responded to the kindness but once he became convinced the changes were permanent, he became the most loving and devoted friend of Angela.

Angela Sreter Spence was born in Transylvania, raised in Hungary but lived most of her adult life in the US. She showed early interest in literature, following in the footsteps of her ancestors. She recently retired as a cerebrovascular neurologist.
Luke and Angela became close friends.
