Ricky; a know it all teenager with a bad temper finds himself in a whole heap of trouble when he is arrested for assaulting his mother. After seeing a judge, Ricky learns that he will not be returning home anytime soon as he is sent to Mapleville Iowa. There he is to live with a couple, who supposedly run a privet detention center and are going to help Ricky learn self-discipline and help him manage his anger. But Ricky soon finds out that is not the case. Upon his arrival, he discovers that the judge overseeing his case sold him to the mayor of Mapleville and he is now the property of Mapleville; a slave.
