About Author
Mary Thimoleas Menas was born in 1918 in Pittsburgh PA of immigrant Greek parents. She earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Education. She married Theodore (Ted) Menas on November 9,1941. They lived in Weirton, WV where they both raised their two children. Mary taught at the elementary level for fourteen years. She wrote throughout her lifetime. Her mother Angeliki told her these brief sayings which Mary translated from the Greek. Mary or Marigo,as her family and friends knew her, died at the age of 93.
