I grew up in the south, watching my Meme and father cook. I started cooking very young. I get great joy cooking for family and friends, and even strangers at times. There is never a time that friends come to visit without the usual spread, just a snack is what I usually call it. There's always plenty of paper plates and red cups to go around.
I enjoy cooking inside and out, on the stove or over a campfire. I have (and use) all kinds of kitchen "machines" (ninjas, pressure cookers, slow cookers, so forth). My Christmas list each year consist of the new "gadgets" I can't wait to use.
I love the spring and summer as I get to grow my own vegetables. I look forward to cooking beans from my garden and canning tomatoes and salsa each year.
I have also enjoyed catering for showers, parties and weddings. Really, just anything that me involves getting to cook.
