"My name is Joann Bartelheim. I was born in the 1960s and raised in Middle Village, Queens, by two very loving parents. After a fulfilling career as a makeup artist, I’m now retired and spend my time enjoying my passions for singing and writing music.
This book is dedicated to my wonderful sister, who has been my rock through the most difficult times. Her unwavering support and love have been my guiding light, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her by my side.
I also want to dedicate this book to my only daughter. We lost her dad when she was very young, and together we navigated life’s challenges, growing up and growing closer through the years. She is my heart, and I want her to know that our bond is unbreakable.
Finally, this book was inspired by the recent birth of my great niece, who has brought renewed joy and light into our family. It is with love and gratitude that I share this story, hoping it brings as much happiness to others as it has to me."
