MIND OVER MIND

Parker fell for what seemed a thousand miles into a blank space of darkness and cold. Voices around him whispered in and out of his thoughts as the clock ticked in the background. Drips splashed against the broken concrete under his feet and the light flickered as it always did. “ GET OUT! GET OUT! get out...” they screamed at him “OH, my poor dear…. You’re already too late..,” they said mocking and laughing at him in the background.”NO...NO...NO! I’m not too la- I’ll do anything!" He huddles in the wet corner and grasps his hair in his hands. "There is nothing you can do now. It is all your fault. All your fault." Their voices enclose on him tighter than the walls around him. The feeling of the air begins to stiffen and become thick and cold as ice. He slowly reaches for the steps while the feeling of cold hands suffocating him pushes him back. The light above him shatters and glass hits the floor and scatters about. "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!," He shouts out to the voices around. "PLEASE! I'm innocent. I'm innocent." He climbs the steps as fast as he can while the broken glass pierces at his skin.
