The Children of Mittie Odessa Clark did not have the privilege of growing up with their mother. She was killed as a result of a car crash on April 4, 1966 right outside of her home, 714 East Johnson Street, Dunn, NC. Ages 2, 4 and 6-years-old at the time, they were left with very little if any, memories of the woman they called "Mommie." Until they were teens, Joyce, James and Serbennia were raised by their maternal aunt, Lillie Mae Harris in Baltimore, MD.
