I Was 14 when I first stepped foot to United States of America. My background is Armenian/Iranian. After going through the initial culture shock I realized that while I was free from many political boundaries my country had imposed on us; I was still a hostage. A hostage to my cultural cruel rules, families needs, and my own lack of courage to stand up against the big monsters in my life. Through my struggles, I managed to finish college, attain a professional degree, and gave birth to two amazing children. Currently I reside in Southern California. Through series of heart breaking events I finally had the power to break free from my emotionally abusive relationship with my husband; as well as broke the very unhealthy bond I had with my own mother and immediate family. The intend of this mini series is to show how my own mental divorce "MMD" transformed me to my better and stronger self. Divorce is a choice and it could be mental. I chose to divorce the monster.
