Mummy Water - African children's stories, is a collection of over a dozen children's short stories from Africa, the land of many magical creatures and characters. Some of the stories like the Lotole trickster character are native to South Sudan and have never been published before. They are short and likeable to many children. Everybody will enjoy them, children and adults alike.

David Dedi is an an Anthropologist, Historian, Author and Poet. He was born in Yei, South Sudan. He grew up in sojourn, schooling in Uganda and Kenya before migrating to Canada in 2006.
He graduated with a BA in Anthropology and History from the University of British Columbia. He is the author of Borrowing Fire - An anthology of poetry and short stories. He started RadioNILO.com, an online portal for urban youth entertainment.
Mummy Water - African children's stories, is his first collection of fond short stories geared towards primary school children. His narrative voice seeks to mimic actual story telling. In writing this book, it is my hope that it will impart some positive thinking upon the young minds that are being moulded in our schools. This book is intended for a universal read, but comes with a uniquely African flavour. It is the crop of the enthusiatism expressed by the children at the Multicultural Family Centre Children's Program in Vancouver. Their passion and keen listening to my African narratives gave me the motivation to jot this stories down. Read on.
