Ida Francis was born in Lebanon in 1921. She grew up on the east side of Detroit in a Syrian Catholic family. Ida married Thomas Joseph in 1944 and later moved to Pleasant Ridge, Michigan and raised seven children. She worked as a cafeteria aide at the General Motors World Headquarters. Ida was active in her church, Royal Oak St. Mary's and enjoyed gardening and singing. She died in 2006 at the age of 85. Her legacy of love and faith lives on in the hearts of all those who knew her sharp wit and commanding presence.
