Born in 1927, educated at St George's secondary school in Cambridge.Worked on the Co-operative stores till called up for national service in the R.A.F. Served overseas in Kenya from 1945 till 1948. Worked on the post office for twenty years serving the last two in Western Australia. Returned to U.K.and worked twenty four years on Cambridge University before retiring in 1992.
