To help the readers understand that sometime an good idea is not alway a good one. Destiny is anxiously waiting until her brother leave just so she can go and turn on t he light switch. Although the wires are sticking out and her older brother jeremiah asks her not to touch the broken switch she decides that it would be a great idea to play with the wires that are hanging out of the light switch.
