The days growing up in this family were filled with up and downs just like any other family, however with this one there was lots of love!
Eddie was a step-dad in the eyes of others, but to me he WAS my dad! He was there for us kids and my mother! He gave us anything and everything he possibly could as a father. Dad married mom knowing she had 3 young children (Ricky, Lisa & Brian) that he would be responsible in raising and that didn't scare him away considering he had 2 children (Raymond & Dale) of his own. There isn't many men who would take on that challenge back in the day. Dad was always there and although he is gone, he is forever in our hearts and mind.
Sandra (mom) had her struggles with raising us three kids prior to dad, but she always managed to keep clothes on our backs, food on the table and loved us all with everything she had! Mom is an amazing woman with many talents that she shares not only with family, but with her friends! Anyone that meets my mom knows what a special lady she is as she has touched so many lives and has always been there for friends and family.
I would never want anything more than what I had growing up with Eddie as my dad and Sandra as my mom. I have a tremendous amount of respect for them both and I am thankful they were my parents growing up!
Mom and dad had an amazing relationship. I truly can't remember a time that they fought. Sure he might try to put a sock in her mouth playing around, but never really fought. They had a marriage that most people can only dream of having. They were a team in this marriage.
