About the Book
Like so many families, there is a fleeting interest in what came before, and then there is not. People tend to want to know about their roots but get on with the present. Our stories here are similar to the stories we have read about famous people of the past.
These are stories that make us wonder and learn who we are.
This book travels from one family to another, choosing stories about strong women. So often the records include much about the male characters and the women are left hidden. Using historical records,
testimonies, and oral memories I have tried to weave together the lives of these women.
