On September 6, 2014 at 6pm, Pink Heals Hays County Truck Dedication occurred. Our family, friends and community joined together in the celebration of naming the Hays County Pink Fire Truck. "Baylie" was born.

The name "Baylie" represents THE FIGHT, THE WIN and THE LOSS.
The name "Baylie" represents a CHILD, a WOMAN and a MAN.
The name "Baylie" represents WAYLON, DEBORAH and WILLIE
It is derived using the second and third letters of each name.
Each one has been touched by cancer
WAYLON MALONE is fighting cancer
DEBORAH GOTTSCHALK is surviving cancer
WILLIE THOMAS lost the battle against cancer
"Baylie" proudly represents the names of the names of these three people as she spreads messages of love, hope and awareness.
A special thank you to all the volunteers who worked very hard to make this happen! The last 5 months has been difficult for our family and we are proud to have our Daddy's name be a part of such an amazing organization. Thank you..

I am Tina Thomas-Owens, daughter of Willie Thomas. This was such a moving moment when they chose the story that I wrote and submitted on behalf of my daddy losing his life to three types of cancer. We love you Daddy! Always Willie Strong!
