The one thing that gives me some hope in this life is my continual work helping new poets get a start. On a daily basis, I talk to new poets, encouraging them, as well as supporting their publishing efforts. As of the publication date of this book of poems, I've been fortunate enough to be able to contribute to publishing four books of poetry for up-and-coming poets, with another three books planned for the next few months.
As far as the circumstances surrounding the other events that have "rocked my world" this year (the covid-19 virus and the protest over police brutality) my actual poetry is the best way I have of contributing to a positive outcome for our world.
When we think of poetry and the poet, we think of a nobler cause. We think of an individual who has dedicated his or her life to the betterment of society through their poetic efforts.
