This book of poetry contains reflections, explorations, and feelings expressed through both rhyming verses and prose, some free flowing and some more structured.

It is a result of a lifetime of friendships and family relationships and reveals experiences and feelings for those closest to me, both human and animal.

I have included sonnets, free verse, and an ode to a memorable animal.

Nancy Hinchliff has been a writer most of her life. Born in Detroit in October of 1930, she married there and had to children. She later moved to Chicago, where she received several degrees, taught in the high schools and at the University of Illinois.

At age 64, she retired from teaching, moved to Louisville, Kentucky, bought an 1882 Victorian home and opened a bed and breakfast, which she ran successfully for 16 years.

She sold her home and business in 2010 and moved to Austin, Texas near her youngest daughter. Her oldest daughter and two grand children remain in Chicago. Nancy is now in her eighties and still writing.
