Collection of letters that the Reno Chamber of Commerce collected and presented to Raymond I. "Pappy" Smith in honor of his 75th birthday in 1962. This tribute was the precursor to the annual "Raymond I Smith Civic Leader of the Year" award that has honored local civic leaders since 1965.

Max Russell Whear is the great grandson of Raymond I. Smith and resides in Gardnerville, NV. Max was 15 at the time of compiling this book. The original letters were re-discovered in 1992 and delivered to Dorothy Jones (daughter of Harold Smith)by the son of a former Harolds Club attorney. Mrs Jones recently made the letters available to the Smith family again. Max scanned and organized the book in exactly the same fashion it was presented to Pappy over 50 years ago.

I thought it was true for a while until Elden posted a topic that Piper was a liar. And now, I read this book and then my jaw dropped. At least Piper left. |
