Karen was my first sister-in-law and part of my introduction to married life. She didn't make it easy on me. But in time we became fast friends. When she died of breast cancer in April 1998 I knew my life would never be the same without her. These are my memories of her spunky personality and zest for life. It is a gift for her daughters - Beth, Jamie and Julie - who never got to know her as adults. All of our lives were more rich for having known Karen.
