The following was written by my mother. Claire Bradley Allen during the last six months of ther life. I asked her during the summer of 1992 if she would begin writting down thoughts about people she knew, her childhood, her mother and father, sisters and brothers. She would mail me what she had completed. I would type it and return to her as an encouragement to continue. It apparently sparked her interest, because she kept it up for several months. She didn't either get around to writting everything I asked her to write about, or she was her usual stubborn self and decided she couldn't or wouldn't write about it. Mom died on April 20, 1993. Some of what she wrote is repetitious, but it had a different enough slant that I didn't change much of what she wrote. I changed some of the spelling and grammer, but not the content.
