Shot@Life Field Visit to the Philippines - To give every child a shot at a bright future

What a privilege to be selected as one of Shot@Life's champion learning trip participants to the Philippines earlier this month. In collaboration of UNICEF Philippines, six of us, Shot@Life champions, along with United Nations Foundation's Shot@Life campaign director and UNF Program Director, embarked on a 4-day journey in various high needs urban and rural areas around Manila. We observed the amazing efforts of UNICEF Philippines and the Dept Of Health on implementing basic vaccination programs for the vulnerable communities in the areas identified as high needs. We were beyond impressed at every stop, witnessing the multi-lateral efforts by DOH and UNICEF in ensuring that each Barangay (district) is equipped with dedicated health workers, working tirelessly - visiting families door to door, often in mountaineous conditions, to ensure that children receive life saving, basic vaccines. Life changing? That is an understatement!
