BIOGRAPHY
Elizabeth Hoskinson
Photography has always been a passion of Elizabeth's from the time she was very young. Early on, she felt the need to archive her life experiences through her art as she moved from town to town with her family every few years. She grew up the daughter of a Southern Minister and spent her entire life encountering new situations which helped her to keep a fresh eye on ordinary things that she would see.
Elizabeth states that, “Like many before me, the first time I saw an Ansel Adams or a Dorothea Lange photograph I was moved, but one of the photographers that has influenced me the most is Diane Arbus. Her perspective on humanity and her raw and quirky style made me sit up and take notice of what can be created through photography.”
Elizabeth is inspired by color, texture, pattern, and the unexpected and she shoots from the hip, but always from the heart.
