About the Book

Being fairly new to widowhood, just short of two years, I have had to learn a whole new way of life. The world had become totally foreign to me. Nothing was the same without my husband. Nothing looked the same, felt the same, or even tasted the same! And yet it was the same. The world just kept right on moving along whether I was with it or not. Eventually the fog of deep pain and despair gave way to the reality of bills, finances, household duties, feeding myself, and discovering how to become a whole person after a near life-time of being half of a whole person. It has proven to be a huge process, but I found that a big helping of support from my friends along with a dash of humor goes along way. So this journal is filled with little windows of pain and sorrow, strength and humor, and at last peace with myself and this big old world.

I live near Cedaredge, Colorado in a very old hand-hewn log cabin with my little dog, Heidi. I am an artist specializing in collage, gourd art,and photography. I have a passion for hiking and rock hounding where ever I go. I am a widow with a beautiful 23 yr old daughter in Minnesota. I love playing the guitar in church and in our little Sunnyside Band here in the Grand Valley . And I love Germany from time to time, where I have found the sweetest of friends!
