Divine is a mother, poet, transformational activist and creator of Don't Hold Your Tongue workshops. Divine began writing poetry at the age of 12 and performed her first poem at the age of 17. After exposing her writing to a LIVE audience, Divine realized that there is POWER in the SPOKEN WORD and pursued a career in performing and teaching performance arts to youth and adults. During her journey Divine has released 2 poetry CDs and is currently working on her first book called ‘Something Beautiful’, a life skills guide for young women. Divine is using this outlet to share her personal experiences in how she overcame her obstacles. Since her start Divine has had the privilege of opening up for Actress Cheryl Lee Ralph and Classical Violinist Daniel Bernard Romaine. Divine has worked with Actor and poet, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Umar Bin Hasan of the LAST POETS. Divine also performed in Phoenix Arizona production of Vagina Monologues and begun pursuing an acting career since her lead role in Second Chance a Big I production (www.secondchancefilm.com). She has also performed in theatre productions of Revenge of a King, A Mothers Will and Don Juan. Don’t Hold Your Tongue workshops are where Divine chooses to plant the seed of not being afraid to say what you feel. Her book, The Joys of Fatherhood, has been selected for listing on Amazon.com's Marketplace! As a result, her book will now be easily found on the world's largest online bookseller.
