Most people know Avery Grossman as a shy, hardworking, and quiet girl. Her only friend is Rebekah Whilshire, an outgoing teen who believes life should be lived on the edge. Avery's dad is a local fisherman, who is sometimes gone for days at a time in his boat. The family pet, Henry, is a tamed seagull who only has one leg. (It's a long story.)
